Laura Toivonen

Dr. Toivonen is a paediatrician and an adjunct professor. She received her MD and PhD degrees from University of Turku and completed her residency in paediatrics at Turku University Hospital. She completed her postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and received her Master of Science in Epidemiology degree from Harvard University. Dr. Toivonen is an active clinician-scientist. The main focus of her research is to investigate early-life risk factors for paediatric infectious and allergic diseases, especially respiratory infections, otitis media, asthma, atopy, and allergies.
