How to visit Pihlajalinna with Pohjola Sicness Insurance or Pohjola Accident Insurance

Customers aged 65 or over are welcome to book a doctor’s appointment as part of Kela’s pilot study on freedom of choice in healthcare. The pilot study covers the most common diseases and ailments, such as blood pressure, diabetes, joint and back pain, and cardiovascular diseases.

Kela reimburses three general practitioner visits for individuals aged 65 and over in the years 2026 and 2027. You can visit a doctor either at a medical centre or remotely via video.

Whether a medical statement, referral or certificate is needed or not will affect the price of the covid-19 test. A positive or negative test result will automatically be transferred to the Kanta service.

An antigen test is a fast method of coronavirus testing. The test includes a nasopharyngeal swab.

An antigen test result will be delivered within approximately three hours and a PCR test result within 1-3 days. Please keep this in mind when booking a covid test for example for a voyage.

The on-call care clinic is for sudden and urgent illnesses or accidents. Our experienced experts are at your service at the general practioner and on-call care clinic.

On-call care

Infectious diseases and symptoms, which include f.e. ear infections, eye symptoms, sudden stomach symptoms and urinary tract infection are treated at the on-call general practitioner service. Various pain conditions, accidents and musculoskeletal problems are also treated at the on-call general practitioner service.

Children and adolescents are treated at the children's emergency service. The most common reasons for seeking treatment in the children’s emergency service are child's fever, acute pain conditions such as ear pain, stomach aches, allergies, skin symptoms and crying. At the children's emergency service, your child will be treated by experienced pediatric specialists and specialized doctors.

An accident and emergency clinic employee can help when you suffer from an orthopaedic injury (in joints, limbs or back). It is good to show a shoulder, wrist, knee, or ankle injured in an accident to an orthopaedist on call. Especially in the case of sports injury or traffic accident it is recommended to make an appointment at an accident and emergency clinic. After getting injured, seek treatment as soon as possible.

The deductible to be paid by the customer for a doctor’s appointment in the pilot study is equivalent to the deductible charged in public healthcare. For other appointments, the customer will be charged according to the regular <link>price list</link>.

The price for a consultation visit within the freedom-of-choice trial is {total}. Once the two visits included in the trial have been used, any additional visits will be charged according to the <link>price list</link>.

The maximum deductible charged for a doctor’s appointment at a clinic is {total}, i.e. the same as in public healthcare. Kela will reimburse two doctor’s appointments in 2025 and three in 2026 and 2027.
